Good luck with healing to all you apparently broken people.

I broke my dominant wrist in middle school and had the full arm cast for a month or two. Pretty much just kept writing with it but my handwriting as a 12 year old was terrible enough that it probably didn't make much of a difference.

I picked up Odyssey as well, though I'm not really into 3rd person action games. But the setting called me, as I had ancient Greek in high school, translating the Iliad and such time-consuming... wait, why have I bought this?

EDIT: and why am I replying to a month old post?

Sad thing is, I didn't even break my hand. I tore two tendons in my palm and completely tore the ligament on the base joint of my thumb. Per my doctor, I'd have been better off breaking it. Oops. >.<

In lighter news!!!! .... I busted my hand three weeks ago and still can't properly operate a mouse >.< I'm not sure why my workplace keeps assigning me things to write because there's a stack of hand-written orders that look like someone let a 5 year old loose on in the building.
Please tell me you are doing all your paperwork in crayon now.

I'm not. Does it help to know that it's done in a purple pen, though?

I did! I also have my house fully built so I don't really know what to do from there besides try to get furniture and clothes.

I buried stuff but it backfires because my 13yo will start playing pranks as well and I don't want her messing with my layout.

This is pretty stock standard for my wife. She's hypermobile, so she doesn't break bones, she tears ligaments. It's definitely worse, and it means when she needs surgery it's a lot more complex.

For what it's worth though, your handwriting would fit in just fine at my work. Our consultants are notorious for 7 year old handwriting skills. One of them literally writes in page size letters, and when he's done it looks like my nephew has drawn on a referral.

Either way I hope it's a speedy recovery!

So, with a few of you sharing your summer quarantine projects, i feel inspired to share mine:

Image

For the last 3 1/2 weeks i've been restoring this 1993 mountain bike and converted it into a daily road speedster.
For at least 10 years it was hidden away in my aunts garage and looked like this when i first got it:

Image

It lost 1-2 kilograms in the process and puts a smile on my face whenever i get to ride it.

My LGS is having a kind of soft opening with Wednesday Commander night starting up again. I work this Wednesday, but I'm super pumped for next week. It also gives me a little more time to evaluate data for COVID in Maryland. Hopefully it'll be trending further downward despite some other businesses reopening, as well as protests of course. It's been way too long...Lord of Tresserhorn needs to be put through his paces!

Oh, don't get the wrong idea, most of us are secretly (or not-so-secretly) assholes, we're just polite about it. ;)

It does surprise me how few Canadians I tend to see on here, though. One of the few I see posting from time to time is actually someone who goes to the same LGS as me (or rather, the one I used to frequent), though I doubt he has ever realized who I am, unless he has looked and recognized one of my decks, or something. My old Jenara, Asura of War list was fairly well known around my area at one point in time.

Thank you so much for complimenting Pennsylvania for having delicious meat paste. It's great up here, not having to be crab people.

So I just got a letter, which is supposed to hold a card order, wrapped in a plastic USPS bag saying "Sorry we damaged your mail". Never gotten one of these before.

Inside - an empty hard case.

Oh joy. I mean, the total value was less than $4... but I've now had more issues with USPS in the last four months, than the prior 5 years combined.

That's rough. My experience with USPS has been mixed. Mostly good, but there was one apartment complex I lived in with weird mailbox numbering in the mail room and it felt like I lost every 5th package there.

I just submitted the payoff for my final student loan. I look forward to forgetting my login info for that site.

In a couple of the places I've lived, the USPS has been excellent; in other places, they deliver inconsistently, sometimes lose packages, leave stuff way out in the open, and all the other annoying things possible with a mail service. The worst experience was a place who refused to deliver some MTG posters I'd ordered, and I had to go in person to demand them hand it over (tracking showed where the package had ended up). Even in person, the lady in charge of the location still insisted they didn't have my package. Thankfully I was able to convince her to go into the back to check, and 'magically' she came back with my posters. Where I live now it's a bit of a mixed bag.

We care. (But really, most of us do. It's our mail processing sorter machines that don't.)
