I like Loam more for being a really resilient engine on its own. Crucible is easy enough to turn off with removal, whereas Loam just keeps coming back. To be fair though I haven't playing with Crucible, just the Magus.

Grim Monolith - Basalt has a few more ways to go infinite but I find in general I prefer getting the mana sooner for more decks. Grim can still go infinite with some of the same ways with Rings of Brighthearth being sort of the one that comes to mind that it doesn't work for Grim but does with Basalt. Still though, I think that outside of going infinite Grim takes it by a mile and in several cases they can both go infinite from the same effects.

Defiled, and it's an easy choice. Strong reanimation on a small body is infinitely better than a barbarian pump.

Fist.
Pit Fighter is just too fragile for commander, and Fist provides a pretty strong deterrent to board wipes while you're setting up for your Overrun alpha strike.

Beguiler. You're more likely to be able to nick small creatures when your army is small than you are to find random enchanted creatures laying about.

Mind Stone. 2-mana rocks are really good Magic cards. I found that once I was doing something on turn 2 in many of my decks, they got a lot better. That isn't to say Commander's Sphere is bad; it's just better late game. But, if the conversation around Arcane Signet is at all justified, I would venture that 2-mana rocks are important af.

Crush of Tentacles purely because I get to use the "Hit him with your crossbow, Steve!" Octopus token with it and that just makes me happy.

Sower, not even close. The double requirement of Willbreaker is a pain, though it does have a few cute combos, typically Sower will do more for you.

Gigantoplasm. It's monocolored and the mana sink ability has repeatable, (arguably niche) functions.

Ice Floe. It can hold back various dangerous threats for longer if so required, preventing future attack triggers as well.

Both can be a blast to play. Going with Descent though because it can be so disruptive to opponents and is just doing something that feels very red but mechanically isn't typically red.

Caryatid - realistically you're not attacking with these guys, so evergreen hexproof seems better and stats don't matter otherwise.

I play both Oracle and Azusa a whole lot. Their card texts are essential to my pet deck. I got to say that I like Azusa a whole bunch more. Even though Oracle + Jace TMS is my favorite combo in all of MTG, the ceiling that Azusa raises my deck is just on an entirely different level.

For this one, I just picked the most popular creature vs Emrakul. I have a sneaking suspicion that Promised End is just the best creature you can cast. I like playing with powerful cards, and I just want to play Emrakul in most decks.

I haven't been able to cast Song of the Dryads very much. But they way it shuts down an opponent's deck at times is clutch. Then again, Beast Within being instant speed is also clutch. This one is tough for me.
Even if it's a weaker card, I prefer Beast Within due to my playstyle. And when the instant speed pays off, Beast Within just has such a high impact. The last time I played it, I destroyed a Doubling Season with Jace, AoT on the stack.

If you already play Rogue's in all of your decks, would go to the dark side JUST to take advantage of Shizo?

Riding the Dilu Horse. There are a lot of replacements for making your creatures effectively unblockable in blue - Keeper of Keys and Archetype of Imagination, but even Sleep works. However, it's harder to find evasion in green - mostly just trample, which doesn't work quite as well. Also, it's one of very few spells that grant an effect indefinitely, which makes it fairly unique.
