I want to like Vantress Gargoyle. Maybe control wants this? Modern Mill has a lot in the 2 drop area, so I doubt this will see play there

V glad the gargoyle does not have defender. I like it.
Mirri, Cat Warrior counts as a Cat Warrior.

vantress gargoyle as a mill lover I like this card, defense is important in mill strategy. that being said in mill you sorta want to be all in on the strategy so holding spells back could lead to negative game play. but this card seems to use mill differently so

this sits in a similar wheel house as mindshrieker

bonecrusher seems cool, good stats on the cost, and a usable spell attached. no vexing devil though

the gargoyle is interesting. nice build around card. An undercosted beater just like Jace phantasm if conditions are met.

I feel like you can make a Modern deck. Jace's Phantasm, Vantress Gargoyle, Arcane Phoenix and cards like Burning Inquiry, Thought Scour
