Eh if you mean modern I'm still in the middle of trying that to see if it works, if you meant commander Jor kadeen as mentioned above seems like a good fit.

On the modern side I'm thinking of actually skipping the ravager, sacrilege that that may sound like. But honestly you have to build around him snacking on your creatures by giving him low to no cost treats.....but that doesn't work anymore since the fast mana that made the deck so explosive is severely hindered nor can you snack on the lands like it used to. People are dead set on not innovating much on that front.

Honestly Nettlecyst, All That Glitters, and Cranial Plating with certain flying creatures may be the way to go since everyone in modern seems to forget that flying creatures exist for combat purposes. Unbounded Potential, Basri's Solidarity, The Ozolith for both adding to the modular and if things die or that ravager actually becomes relevant to include you can double dip the counters.

Arcbound Prototype + Mishra's Factory might be a realistic include instead of Blinkmoth Nexus + Inkmoth Nexus because while infect really works to seal the deal the new modular is mostly white red and we need colored mana more than infect. Which means do we really need Darksteel Citadel. Heck Karn's Bastion or Throne of Geth have been things I've eyed, but without reliable recursion it be iffy for functionality and at 4 and tap wouldnt Gavony Township almost be better in this? But do bots really want to be naya bots?

This has all been cycling through my mind for the last month.......

The more I look at the MH2 card list, the more I want to make a red-white Arcbound based artifact deck.
Jor Kadeen, the Prevailer, perhaps?
That is one of the legends I've been looking at using, yes. Another potential one would be Alibou, Ancient Witness, alternately, I'll go with Akiri, Line-Slinger partnered with Rebbec, Architect of Ascension. We'll see. It really depends on whether or not I get an Arcbound Shikari or not, but that should be likely given its rarity.

@EonAon Definitely commander, I don't really care about modern or standard anymore. Heck, even back when I had an LGS I frequented, I pretty much only did Draft. I think the last time I played standard was back in the Alara/Zendikar era, I had a really mean Nissa Elfball deck. Only really had an issue with Time-Sieve decks.

Yeah Bundles are Fat Packs, they renamed them about three or four years back.

You guys, I'm obligated to make a General Ferrous Rokiric deck because my dog's name is Ferrous. Other than mana rocks and card advantage stuff, it's gonna be all Boros spells. It'll probably be bad, but I gotta.

Good thing that hybrid spells would trigger it then.

Idk, sounds like the perfect place for Precursor Golem spell copy weirdness. It might be bizarre, but it would be cool and fun, which by definition isn't bad.

One of the funniest things I've ever done was have half a dozen golems in play, including the Precursor Golem (and it's tokens), then casting a kicked Rite of Replication.

Something like Spitting Image is way better. The triggers stack once you have multiple Precursor Golems in the best way, and I have completely non-infinitely compared my board states to Avagadro's Number. I have Precursor Golem in Zedruu, but at one point I had a temur deck dedicated to Precursor Golem, and the commander was Riku of Two Reflections. Look at how quickly this gets out of hand:

1) Cast Precursor Golem, clone with Riku. We've got 2 Precursors and 4 vanillas.
2) Cast Cackling Counterpart on a vanilla token, both Precursors triggers. Copy it with Riku, making a 3rd Precursor.
3) First Precursor trigger resolves, copies all 3 Precursors. We're at 6 Precursors and a pile of vanillas not even worth keeping track of.
4) Second Precursor triggers resolves, copies all 6 Precursors, putting us to 12 total.
5) Flashback Cackling Counterpart. 12 Precursor Golems triggers, doubling our golems 12 more times.

It took a lot of mana, but just 3 cards including my commander made 49,152 copies of Precursor Golem. Another instant or sorcery that clones would double the golems 49,152 times. If you type that math into google, it tells you that it's infinity, put it's really only a 15,000 digit number. I love Precursor Golem math.

And the best part? With those colors you can easily give them all haste...

Lol, it's things like that combo that bans decks in my playgroup, because they're just so degenerate. *sigh* I miss my Sliver Queen/Warp World deck.

I couldn't help but notice that the Collector Packs for MH2 has ZERO slots for opening a regular-border rare/mythic in foil, something that all previous Collector Boosters (Commander Legends included) always had. Quite the sneaky move considering this is the set with the fetchland reprints. My tinfoil hat wonders if the confusion of variants (retro, sketch, etched) was deliberate to obscure the fact that it's basically impossible to open a regular border fetchland in collector packs (or of any rare/mythic of the set that isn't part of the "new-reprint-to-modern-list", for that matter). I believe this is going to have a visible effect on the Secondary Market when people start to wonder why MH2 regular-border foils command a higher price difference than all other sets with Collector Boosters.

So you folks knows those weird surreal dreams one tends to get right before waking up? I had a weird one last night. I guess I was looking at nexus before bed, because I dreamt there were two DirkGentlys having a really heated argument with each other about whose phelddagrif deck was the superior build. I remember thinking in the dream, "I know I want to build a phelddagrif deck, but now I don't know which one."

First dream I've ever had about a website, let alone this place. Quitting the greener grass certainly has odd side effects.

I have had a pattern since I first got into MUDs and MUSHes back in the early 90s, which is: get real interested in something, the find an online community about it and get super into it.

So I've been dreaming about whatever game or forum or whatever I've been on since forever.

I used to repeat arguments about speaker design in my dreams when I was super into bass gear and lived on talkbass :P

We tried Zork very briefly but I was almost all consoles until about 1992/93, like King's quest / Myst type age.

The List is https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/a ... 2020-09-10 as far as I know.

They're randomly inserted in set boosters?

I can actually see Dirk and D1rk having this conversation. I....can't see it being a quick and easy convo (no shade @DirkGently, more just saying you are resolute in your opinions and your ability to defend your position. It's a good thing).

I also had resurgence of more vivid dreams on leaving the greener grass behind. I don't dream a lot now though, mostly because I'm on an anti-d and I have OSA so I sleep very heavily.

It's not the be all and end all, and I also have a 1yo in the mix, so my sleep is wildly erratic in quality. Plus I have to wear a CPAP mask when I sleep. It's emphatically unattractive, even to my wife, who was attracted enough to me to agree to marry me.

Weirdly though I've never dreamed massively. Transitioning onto fluoxetine gave me a massive uptick in them, and I've heard keeping a dream journal helps. Which makes sense I guess.

Eyy, LOTR reference! My favourite reference, too. The Balrogs are pure fire, pun intended.

Ironically, one of the things that made me stop smoking was a dream where I was flying. Started smoking in the dream and I ended up falling out of the air. Sometimes your subconscious just gets the message through anyway it can.

Pre-order prices have dropped to some extent, so I've ordered most of the things I want, and a bundle 'cause it's generally fun to roll the dice of boosters, as stupid as both things mentioned might be. /shrug. But that's what hobbies are, activities you end up spending way too much money on lol.

And I want borderless versions of the other two now lol.
EDIT: These two posts in the RCOTD (Sundering Stroke 6/9/21) tickled me greatly, kudos to the both of you!

The art is pretty badass imo. I love the trace of the sword-slash and the feeling of immediacy in the gore. However, once you take artistic perspective/depth into account, you realize that lady must be Sephiroth or something because that sword must be 12-15 ft long (~4-5m). Her poor wrists.

Oh, and the card itself sucks. Even the top end with all that red mana is pretty mediocre freaking awful.

EDIT: Oh my god, it's a sorcery.

Please remember the common signs of a stroke:
  • Inability to move one side of the body effectively - such as inability to lift left arm
  • Sudden confusion - which can be indicated by slurred speech and/or use of 7 CMC sorcery removal
  • Sudden dizziness or difficulty coordinating movements - such as deck shuffling
  • Difficulty seeing out of both eyes - such as one eye seeing this card as good, and the other seeing it accurately
