Hi, may I ask the opinion of others on this. Have a playset of khans Wooded Foothills in good condition. Another player wants to trade a playset of Prismatic Vista for my set of foothills. Is this a fair trade?

By TCG Market, which is what I usually use, Vista is about $20 and Foothills is about $25. So you'd be losing about $20 on such a trade. I'd ask for another Vista, if you're looking for Vistas. The Fluff wrote: ↑4 years agoHi, may I ask the opinion of others on this. Have a playset of khans Wooded Foothills in good condition. I also feel that Wooded Foothills is just a plain better card, so unless I had a spare playset I wooden be in a hurry to trade it.

oh, didn't know that the gap was 5 dollars. thanks. I'll try to negotiate if they're willing to add some more to the trade.
Mostly use SCG as price reference, so I thought the price gap was only 3 dollars.
And I also had the imagination that Vistas would rise in price...

So long as you both use the same reference, it's fine. I like TCG Market because that's indicative of what cards are actually selling for, not what someone WANTS them to be selling for.The Fluff wrote: ↑4 years agooh, didn't know that the gap was 5 dollars. thanks. Vista will definitely rise in price in the long run. So will Foothills, though. It's really a matter of which one gets reprinted next.

Time for a low-value, low-risk one:
My friend and I split some C19, and he wants to trade his Pramikon, Sky Rampart and Tahngarth, First Mate for my Chainer, Nightmare Adept. For me it's all about the far future - I don't particularly need any of them, and I can't see myself building one of them in the near future. So since whichever I don't pick is going to get tossed in a hole for a few years (not literally), which is the way to go? Chainer seems the more interesting card, but I can see doing Pramikon Prison Pillowfort.
Pile A:
Pramikon, Sky Rampart
Tahngarth, First Mate

Got another question for this thread.
A person pm'd me on facebook this morning asking for a trade of my near-mint morningtide Bitterblossom, to his near-mint ultimate masters bitterblossom + 5 dollars. Is this a fair trade?
pile a: morningtide bitterblossom
pile b: ultimate masters bitterblossom
______________
I don't play edh, so can't comment much on those cards. But the chainer does look interesting. I'm assuming gy strategies are also strong in edh.

Yeah, that's fair. Those two printings are within a few bucks in price, and you're probably actually getting the better end of the deal since you're getting some cash.

I ended up just giving him the Chainer, since the values were so low. Probably going to pick up Pramikon to build around at some point.

Hi, a person wants a trade a set of near mint normal path to exile from various sets to my single near mint WPN Path to Exile - Rebecca Guay art. Is this a fair trade?
pile a: four near mint normal path to exile from various sets
pile b: one near mint foil WPN Path to Exile - Rebecca Guay art.

That's a great deal for you. Not only is the Todd Lockwood art way better, but those Paths go for $6-$10 depending on the set. The WPN promo foil is only about $16. I'd definitely take Pile A.The Fluff wrote: ↑4 years agoHi, a person wants a trade a set of near mint normal path to exile from various sets to my single near mint WPN Path to Exile - Rebecca Guay art. ah, I see. thanks for the evaluation. Ok, will follow your advice on that.
the guy who will trade with me is taking pictures of his cards to show me that they're really near mint.

a little update. We did the trade today, it's a little different. I received 2 normal M17 pte, 1 foil m17 pte, and 4 dollars cash. In exchange for giving him a WPN pte Rebecca Guay art. Looks like he's a fan of her art.

So, a slightly bigger one.
Pile A:
Mox Diamond (the non-shiny one)
Pile B:
Polluted Delta (the very shiny one)
I'm not so concerned with matching values right now, I'm more looking to the future. Basically, is it worth trading a Legacy-staple RL card for the second-best version of a blue fetch (because there's no way that I can swing an ONS foil)?

the question is Legacy still a thing in your area? If not, then I highly suggest to trade it for something that is at least modern usable, like the delta.

Both are EDH legal, and I've been told that I should put more Diamonds in aggressive decks. Mox Diamond is an irreplaceable effect in decks that want it, and the only reason that I'm even considering letting one go is because it'd be for a good friend's Legacy deck.

I have 3 Force of Negation. Trade one for a Gilded Drake? I use all of them in Edh decks but the drake would slot great in my new aminatou deck replacing the force. Thoughts?
EDIT: I'm in Europe so the price difference is not so big

In general yes, trading Modern cards into Reserve List cards is a good idea. I'd pick the Drake every time.vandertroll wrote: ↑4 years agoI have 3 Force of Negation. Trade one for a Gilded Drake? Apparently the Drake is in French, but gonna do the trade since the price is still roughly the same around here.

a little late into the discussion. But I think @SquirrelToken is correct, the drake is the better choice.
