Enchantment (R)
When ~ enters the battlefield, exile target permanent.
Pay the exiled cards mana cost: Create a token that is a copy of the exiled card.
I was wondering whether I should add one or two mana to the activation cost. I guess with the new rules I could actually change it so you cast a copy of the exiled card.void_nothing wrote: ↑3 years agoInteresting - feels like you might want to use the ETB trigger on your own permanents fairly often. Especially if you have an infinite with Memnite or an Urza block free creature or the like.
OneAndOnly wrote: ↑3 years agoInteresting, given that Veteran Bodyguard is already a (slightly different) card.
That seems likely. ; )void_nothing wrote: ↑3 years agoSo is Benevolent Bodyguard - I'm sure this is an intentional name reuse
I personally love any and all variations of it. The amount of cards I made that make tokens of already existing creatures with name and all is ridiculous.OneAndOnly wrote: ↑3 years agoWhat are your thoughts on "re-printing" pre-existing cards in non-standard ways -- the way Goldmeadow Lookout presaged Goldmeadow Harrier. for example, or Gaea's Cradle became Growing Rites of Itlimoc // Itlimoc, Cradle of the Sun, or Black Lotus was reshaped into Lotus Bloom?
It's a theme. Also I once tried to remake Teleport, but I realized aside from costing too much it's a relatively fine and clean execution of the concept. I think, I'll find what I made out of it and post it eventually. ^^void_nothing wrote: ↑3 years agoif you're gonna do that I'd rather see you tackle the true name wastes like Teleport. Veteran Bodyguard basically functions perfectly for the flavor of that name.
Wow this murders your opponent's fetches and makes yours better. Seems like maybe it should be a colorless artifact.SecretInfiltrator wrote: ↑3 years agoPlayers will want to play this card optimally. Just making sure that tracking land-drops is not an additional concern to take into consideration.void_nothing wrote: ↑3 years agoThat's "cast" and not "play" - is having lands be a pure whiff an intentional choice?

Enchantment (R)
If a player would search their library for one or more cards, you may search that player's library for a card instead and exile that card. Then that player searches their library.
I like it, put it on something with Menace and you get an unblockable creature. Put it on something else, and you get a miniature Lure.SecretInfiltrator wrote: ↑3 years agoCard of the Day 2020-10-19 >

Enchant creature
Enchanted creature must be blocked by exactly one creature if able.
Something to consider - Harrow at sorcery-speed is definitely way less attractive.void_nothing wrote: ↑3 years agoCool, Harrow fused with looting. I'm not sure if the ramp mode is too strong as an opponent's-EOT play...
Maybe... <.<Ink-Treader wrote: ↑3 years agoSo this week's theme is definitely counting up from 1 to (presumably) 7 eh? Neat card, though it does feel a bit strong.
