I don't know how ya'll manage to live there. I visited MD once, it was hell. No one should have to experience that kind of humidity.

I visited Arizona/Utah when I was a kid, and felt like the water was being drained out of me. Air should not be that dry.

(but yeah, our humidity sucks. You didn't even visit during the worst of it, though pretty close to it. August gets worse. It's like walking through a swimming pool)

Haha. If you think Maryland is bad, try Chicago. The summers are hotter and just as humid and the winters colder with more snow. At least the week of spring and fall we get each year is nice.

My entire experience of Chicago was limited to it's airport, which is hands down, the worst layout of any airport I've seen. Who splits the termals for the same airline on opposite ends of a giant U?!?!?! WHO MAKES THEIR AIRPORT A GIANT U WITH NO GOOD WAY TO CROSS IT SHORT OF RUNNING THE WHOLE THING!!!!

O'hare is um... something. Helps me get my cardio in. Plus it's nicer than Midway. And a thousand times better than LAX. Plus it has a dinosaur skeleton, which I always enjoy looking at.

I love how you still have existential dread after coming here for two days. Although, it was pretty humid that weekend.

If there's no blistering heat, abundant cacti, and single digit humidity, is it really worth living? Humidity is actually hell.

My entire experience of Chicago was driving here and nearly being absorbed by the beauty of Lake Michigan. That lakeshore drive area is really something to behold.

I just had a flight transfer there on my way back from a moderator meet up. ^.^ It is a very pretty lake though!

@pokken So...... I looked at that image and wasn't sure of that was a pre C-19 or during it.

People have been not abiding the whole social distancing thing lately.

I think me and my family had a lay-over flight transfer thing on our vacation to and from Portugal, back in 2017. I think the layover was in Chicago, though I honestly don't remember. /shrug It was just a few hours each time so we just stayed in the airport, didn't leave and explore the city.

Bit of a different story here in NZ, but we've mostly abandoned social distancing and protection etc too. That being said prior to the start of the week we were Covid free (no active cases). We now have 3.

I really do not understand the mask thing. I will probably never stop wearing a mask in public at least some of the time now that it's socially acceptable :P Surely in the winter when everyone's carrying their coughs around.

I'd have been wearing mask and splash goggles around the game store for years if it wasn't weird.

If anything from this becomes permanent, I hope it's the normalization of wearing masks in public when feeling ill. I remember it was one of the things that struck me most while living in Japan. It's just a normal thing there. Thinking of others is just a normal part of the culture. Imagine that.

Foreword/liabilty
Look, I got a question and I need some honest answers. I'm not trying to start a riot with this, thus I am going to tread VERY carefully here. Trying my best, truly and honestly. May Cryo have mercy on my mtgn account should I fail.

For as long as I have been able to dress myself and commit social suicide of my own accord, I have been an aloha shirt enthusiast. From wearing different one LITERALLY EVERY DAY in 7th grade to coolly combining them with hideous thrift store trash in college, I have always enjoyed the breezy feel and manic patterns. They have always, to varying degrees, been in my stylistic repertoire.

Fast foreward to present day: I hear some group of violent degenerates calling themselves the disciples of boogaloo or some dumb %$#% are using my beloved shirts as a uniform! As the shaggy son of a puerto-rican lady and an irishman, I have no stake in this "boogaloo". I do not want violence, to or from anyone. But I can't help but feel that my love has been tainted, my wonderful shirts turned into armbands of hate. I don't want to wear something that antagonizes strangers or gets bottles thrown at me. I should at least get the pleasure of saying something witty before that happens again.

Point blank: Can I still wear my shirts or has the world blackened them with evil? Am I just the odd loser of an unknowable cosmic stock market, changing evermore as the world unfolds?
Edit: Just so you all know, I did read the rules. Don't hammer me on #2, man. Please.

Maybe if you start cranking Jimmy Buffet everywhere you go? I dunno, man. You're in a tough spot here.

Keep wearing them. They can only co-opt something if we let them.

I almost ended up making a new PC. Its something I had been meaning to do this year for sort of the last six months. I almost pulled the trigger last week until I saw that parts were WAY up. If you can help it, don't buy any PC parts until this is over. What used to be a $400 GPU was up to like $700.

I made my current PC like six months before Overwatch released and its starting to show its age.

I was actually planning to build a new PC a few years ago, but didn't because the price of parts had shot up. Parts in general have been up ever since the Bitcoin boom when people were hoarding CPUs, graphic cards, etc. to build Bitcoin mining operations, and even after that died down the price of parts hasn't really come down to their pre-Bitcoin boom level.

What I eventually figured out was it is actually cheaper to go with the pre-built computers, since they are getting bulk buying deals. I got a pre-built Alienware computer that was pretty close to what I wanted to build (minus the 64MB RAM which was just way too expensive and still is, but I plan to upgrade it eventually/hopefully) and pound-for-pound I saved around $300.

I just needed to bite the bullet because my Gaming Laptop, which was a graduation gift when I graduated from College in 2010, was really starting to show its age. Though the fact that it lasted me that long is a testament to the fact I got the top, top, top of the line when I got it.
