Twining staff will get banned. Way too easy to combo with.
Explain? We're in a world where Swarm Intelligence and Mirari both roam free.
Those two do not have the ability to go off by themselves.
Swarm intelligence and mirari also require a cast to copy the spell.

Seems incredibly unlikely.

Interestingly, we've never had a precon-original card get banned. The only card in a precon that's been banned, to my knowledge, is trade secrets from political puppets in the 2011 precons (which was, of course, a reprint from onslaught).

Will twinning staff be the first? No one can be sure...

But the answer is no.

To be fair, that's because it's probably not going to see a lot of play. It's not a card with a lot of middle ground. It's most often going to do nothing for people and get cut from decks, it's sometimes going to be a powerful combo piece enough to irritate people and hopefully get cut there as well, and the only decks it should stick in are the half dozen generals that work with the trigger on their own.

That would be my guess as well. Outside of commanders that copy spells themselves, though, idk that it'll be all that strong of a combo engine. Otherwise you've gotta either have multiple forks or a whole lotta mana. But then I'm no expert on combo so I could be wrong.

Either way, probably not a card that interests me. Every time I do anything remotely close to spellslinger it always ends up being a clock-monopolizing trip to unfun land.

oh my gawd, manascape refractor is so gorgeous, just slots automatically into anything with a util or rampy mana base, it's like thespian's stage but less of a method actor hee

i want three of that card and I wasn't even gonna buy the sultai deck at all
And having a Thespian's Stage around can give Manascape Refractor a way to dodge artifact removal, even though it thereafter limits its abilities.

You can mutate onto a token, right? Maybe not the highest and best use, but I like mutate with black for Dreadhorde Invasion and Ophiomancer.

Yeah, you can. If the token is on top then it's a token creature still. If a card is on top then it's a nontoken.

I did not expect the Mardu deck to contain everything I wanted but also to have more native cohesion than I expected. Face commander did that no favours. There's like six commons/uncommons to pick up not in my deck. Nice.

I predict many people will sleep on this deck and so it will stay safe from secondary markups.

now that most cards in packs have alternate arts and presentations and so forth, spoilers are full of duplicates and it takes a while to read them to notice they are duplicates. that's not anybody's fault, just saying it might be time to find a new way to present the spoilers so that alt arts are hidden behind the standard printing?

You can sort them by number, but this is understandably not the best for catching The New Stuff™. For now just skim past the stuff you already know, I guess? Hopefully there's something that can be done to resolve this. Going off base set contents isn't always correct - every now and then, a card debuts in one of its fancy versions instead, plus you get stuff like the buy-a-box and whatnot else. We'll see what's possible within the system.

I'll shoot this up the chain as a possibility, but the short answer is: I don't know. There's definitely a way to do it, but it'll kind of depend on how much dev time it would take us, and the world is a bit hectic for us all right now.

I'll pick it up because I like the theme and it has some cards,i'd like to have. The Jeskai one because i like the colors and the deck too,but it may be cheaper to get the Abzan than the one card (Nesting Grounds )

I think I would not run Heartless Act...on principle.

Well, horrific Flavor Aside Heartless Act can now join Deadly Rollick as cards that completely alter the removal suite of every Black-based commander deck for the rest of time. Deadly Rollick is at least debatable or not a windmill slam in a deck like, say, Edgar Markov or Trolloro. But I think Heartless Act is absolutely better than Doom Blade and Go for the Throat.

Against the top 50 creatures, Heartless Act only misses one and a half (Ramos, Dragon Engine, Shalai, Voice of Plenty after an activation) and even then not always. Doom Blade misses 13, and GftT misses 4. (discounting ones that all of these fail against, which is currently only Iroas, God of Victory).

Against the top 20 non-'walker Commanders (since all of these miss 'walkers)
- Heartless hits 18 (I am ruling it does not hit Atraxa or Korvold; it could but most opponents are not morons).
- Throat hits 18 as well.
- Blade hits only 7.

Parcelbeast is the first legit mutate card that you can put into decks without a mutate theme. Just a very power ability and an uncommon as well.
Yea, I'll definitely be playing that in MW Elemental landfall. Very good card.

So, The Ozolith is an auto-include in every Skullbriar, the Walking Grave deck now, right?

Seems like not what Skullbriar wants to do.

Why not? Skullbriar moves zones, keeps the counters and Ozolith gets the counters as well. It's basically a counter doubler for 1 mana.

Ozo picks the counters off SB.

Does it combo with persist/undying and a creature-sac outlet?

I had to read that way too many times. Oh, excellent, I love SB.

...though I don't get why they didn't just use those extra words on the card.
