This is a thread to discuss the Modern Slivers archetype in Modern, better known as Modern's REAL tribal deck (sorry, lame Humans). If you've ever wanted to Aether Vial or Collected Company an army of hasty, hiveminding aliens that fly, pump, regenerate, and tap for more Sliver mana, you're in the right place. Here's a recent MTGO League list to kick off discussion:

Where can Slivers go from here, especially with the exciting new Modern Horizons additions like Cloudshredder Sliver and honorary Sliver Unsettled Mariner? What lists are you working with? Any recent tournament successes? Discuss away for the glory of the Hive!

I’m here hoping the Slivers community will move from MTGSalvation to Nexus... This post is in continuation of the discussion started there...

Could Sliversmith be a good card for Slivers, as a way to avoid mana flooding? Except for activating Sliver Hive, I see no reasons why we would want to ever have more than 2-3 lands. Making tokens out of extra lands could be something... but then, with 16-18 lands, that may not be necessary. SB material for when we know the games will be long?

Conclave Tribunal : That card really intrigues me, as it targets a non-land permanent. This could be a case for swapping Virulent for Sidewinder, to increase the number of white creatures from 12 to 16 (while 12 is a reasonable amount of mana sources, it may not be optimal). It’s a bit slow, and sorcery speed, but it can be cast as early as turn 3, without really stopping our development.

Return to the Ranks : Another case for Sidewinder. Most probably pure SB material for Control and Midrange matchups, if two white Slivers can stay long enough on the battlefield.

Pithing Needle costs less than Sorcerous Spyglass, but we don’t get to see opponent’s hand before naming a card. If we want a transformational SB, I could see us playing two of each in the SB, with 11 Sentinel/Syphon/Dregscape Slivers...

Could Changeling Outcast be a good replacement for Virulent Sliver if we want to maximize the number of one-drops, outside of Galerider and Striking Slivers?

Looking forward to seeing your results from tomorrow's match. I've been trying to incorporate the first sliver or any other of the more expensive sliver lords but it doesn't add anything to the deck. I like how explosive your deck is.
