I could see this run in Dinosaur decks. Getting several enrage triggers for 2g instant speed is great (edit: just realized my mistake, that the creatures won't fight).

An unusual commander that can utilize this is Grothama, All-Devouring.

This card would be pretty decent in PDH, i.e. the format of all commons with an uncommon creature of your choice at the helm. However, I cannot recommend that format to anyone :P

It's an instant-speed, one-sided fight spell. Works well with deathtouch creatures (such as Rhonas the Indomitable). I could see it being played in some sort of monogreen fight club deck. I'm generally not a huge fan of fight effects in EDH, since they're easy to blow out with removal, but this has the upside of having two of your creatures deal damage, which mitigates that somewhat. 3 mana is a bit pricey for the effect though.

Yeah, and the deathtouch is nice but not necessary - if you're playing green, most of the time you should have two creatures big enough to take out anything else on the table. And being instant speed can help to play around blowouts.

Maybe if you're mono-G or U/G, you would want that? Or if you have a lot of abilities that trigger on creatures dealing damage? If you're in black or white, you have a ton of better removal options than this.
You can also do things like hit your own Stuffy Doll or dinos. And it scales, so it has some benefit for rg as well. And creatures with infect/wither can use it to weaken indestructible creatures.

True, but I think these are more corner cases. If you're doing RG Dinos with Enrage triggers, you're probably better off with fight cards, since that way you get to remove your opponents creatures AND get a trigger rather than choosing one or the other.

It's a bit niche, but there's places it could be good. Grothama has already been mentioned, so that's covered. I feel like it shouldn't be completely discounted as creature removal for mono green in general. It's instant, green is the eponymous colour of fatties, so barring indestructibility it's an option. That being said it's not Beast Within.

I think people overrate theft effects in commander. They're very strong in limited (and depending on format, 60-card) because they're simultaneously a threat and removal. They're still that in commander, but eliminating a single threat among 3 enemies is a lot less strong than when you only have one enemy.

On the plus side, you have more selection, and you can take a commander to lock them out of using it. But since this one is so limited in its targets, that drastically reduces those benefits. I'd much rather pay 1 or 2 more for a more flexible theft option.

True, you only nab one thing from one person, but it's still a nontrivial board swing. Now you have their thing, and they have to work to get it back somehow.

That said, I prefer theft effects that are not undone by a Reclamation Sage, and being able to reach something bigger than a Scavenging Ooze. Gilded Drake and Expropriate are my poisons of choice. However, they're both two orders of magnitude more expensive than this thing here, so there's that.

I used to run this in a classic zur build circa 2012 and it was excellent then and is still such now. It hits a lot of big players like priest of titania, deathrite shaman, and even certain low cmc generals. It's no treachery, but it is solidly underrated IMHO, albeit much better in cEDH than the average battlecruiser exchange.

I want someone to play this so I can make it fall off with mirrorweave. Mega Melvin moment.

It seems a bit too limited in commander, though I could see it nabbing some niche creatures. Being recurrable with sun Titan might help it.

It'll mostly hit utility creatures like mana dorks (but generally not really dangerous ones like Viridian Joiner) and things like Mother of Runes, Waterfront Bouncer, and the like, as well as larger tokens in the 5/5 range or higher. Sometimes that's enough.

I should point out that as the game becomes Spikier, this card gets better.

Great against a cheeky opponent trying a Dark Depths or Marit Lage's Slumber combo.

Anyone who lets their Mom get stolen is a chump when they can turn her sideways and stop it. But yeah, you're not likely to get much other than a utility critter with this otherwise. I'm actually struggling to think of anything super valuable that you could grab with it. Deathrite Shaman? Viscera Seer could be good, Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim, Grand Abolisher, and tokens too I guess if there's any worth grabbing (Marit Lage). Generally though, I think this is just too niche to be worth playing unless you have a hatebear.dec in your meta.

As an aside, those invocation arts do not get any better with time. Not at all a fan.

I don't think I've ever seen Threads of Disloyalty actually played. There are certainly targets in the format (such as Scavenging Ooze or a mana dork), but the format isn't nearly as centered around 2-drops as legacy / modern, where stealing a Dark Confidant or Tarmogoyf is more impactful. Being an aura is also usually a downside - if the aura gets removed, the creature returns to its owner, unlike something like Blatant Thievery or Entrancing Melody.

I could imagine it being played in an enchantress deck, such as Tuvasa the Sunlit. But even then, I suspect more impactful auras like Treachery or In Bolas's Clutches are usually preferable. Maybe a tech target for Heliod's Pilgrim?

Seems strong in Tiny Leaders, if anyone still plays that format.

Yeah, I take it back, some of them do look pretty cool, at least as far as the actual art pieces go. I guess it's the formatting design and font, it's just so ungainly. It just looks so much worse than the Kaladesh masterpieces.

I haven't really played it but I run almost every other theft aura in Kestia, the Cultivator, where I'm not too selective on targets. Still, I would rather a limitation like binding grasp's tban not being able to hit anything. Not sure if I would try it.

Arcbound Crusher is a little underpowered but it is definitely friends with Mindless Automaton, which is one of my favourite cards! It'd have fit as a finisher into my old base-blue artifact deck with huge acceleration, Chief Engineer and Unifying Theory. Or on the cut-throat competitive side you might look towards Paradoxical Outcome and a bunch of charms but there'll always be a better finisher for a strat like that than a disenchantable attacker without haste.

Classic finisher for Marchesa, the Black Rose arcbound tribal. Gets real big, real fast, and helps get other things big too.

Outside of that deck I can't see justifying it. Or any of the arcbound critters really, except the obvious one.
