You can get Jitte with the second one. You're clearly not greedy enough.

I haven't got a copy but I tjink I should. very cute and a potentially reusable tutor is something to keep an eye on. Love the idea of blade of Selves on it!

Relic Seeker seems bad and unexciting. I guess if you play it early, you can attack someone with no board and get your equipment, but if you draw it when everyone has a board, you have a Grizzly Bears. Maybe someone can get value out of it, but I'm not interested in being that someone.

I remember fondly playing this commander in the pre Kaalia years. A little mana heavy now, and doesn't circumvent commander tax like Tymaret, the Murder King, but she's still quite the engine I think. Oh, the countless games I had with this. Such fun.

Those original Ravnica champs are all fair ways to use Painters Servant.

Not very fair with original Teysa, however

Nah, painters servant makes them a color in addition to their colors, so you can make all your mono red creatures red/black and just draw more cards.

I find it's just typically weaker than Archfiend of Despair, an open Boros Reckoner/Stuffy Doll, and significantly weaker than a Sower of Discord, in most cases. Although it is Sunforgerable, if that were a relevant metric.

I like this card, I do. It has the advantage of surprise! and can be Sunforged. It's not going to win you the game, but it is a good rattlesnake.

This is fun! It can be Sunforged, yes, and also pretty readily copied if you do want to win the game that way.
Psst, check the second page of Custom Card Contests & Games! Because of the daily contests, a lot of games fall down to there.

On board rattlesnakes typically work better than instant rattlesnakes in my experience. The exception to this would be if you've played with a group long enough that they'll respect you having 2w up in the combat phase.

How does this interact with lethal combat damage? Does the spell do damage after you die?

By my interpretation, it sets up a trigger based on a specified condition [damage dealt]. The creature deals damage which thus causes damage to be dealt to it's controller. This condition reads as a modification to how it deals damage.

Hmmm. No, upon my own further inspection, this reads like Flesh Reaver.

"This turn, whenever an attacking creature deals combat damage to you, it deals that much damage to its controller."

"Whenever Flesh Reaver deals damage to a creature or opponent, Flesh Reaver deals that much damage to you."

There's your key word. "Whenever" specifies it's a triggered ability. (Fleshreaver's ability always hits the stack, which is why you will kill people with your two drop 4/4 before it can kill you).

Interesting - a much more narrow but slightly cheaper Comeuppance-style effect. Generally, Comeuppance, Selfless Squire, Deflecting Palm, and Reverse Damage are better because they negate the incoming damage whereas with this you have to actually live the attack for it to be super relevant. And there's no cheating it; the wording means that if you Dawn Charm or Gideon's Sacrifice to dodge the damage you don't deal anything.

At the same time, those effects aren't actually capable of killing someone with their own damage - so if you have sufficient life or are in a knock-down drag-out racing brawl, this is a potent enough way to just kill some folks. Ultimately even though errata has made it Sunforger-able it'd be a low-tier choice for the average Aikkido deck.

This looks interesting. [card]Mirror strike[/mana] has won me many games, but you having to actually take tbe damage limits it quite a lot. Looks like somehing worth trying, even when it looks more likely to draw the game.

I really like this chap; I'm not sure it would be playable bordering green, but Grixis needs all the rampy help it can get. It also can chump and regenerate, which is not insignificant.
