Kind of, you interested?
Basically you would answer the following after reading what I have completed.
What do you like?
What do you want more of?
What’s missing?
Where do you get bored?
Where do you get confused?
Any feedback on the structure or way it’s organized?
Anything else you want me to know?

So glad to see MTGNexus is up and running! Here's hoping the content I contribute to it won't be randomly killed by some EU privacy policy lol

I'm always down for more and new reading material.
What's the genre?
Sadly, this will always be a hurdle for any site. Not just Sally or Nexus.TearsOfTomorrow wrote: ↑4 years agoSo glad to see MTGNexus is up and running! Here's hoping the content I contribute to it won't be randomly killed by some EU privacy policy lol

I like me some introductions! It's great to learn a little bit more about our player base. I'm also deeply grateful that y'all are making the switch to MTGNexus. Lots of love for MTGSal, but it's time for a new face and damn does Nexus deliver.
My name is Ben and my immediate family came up with Benjameen as a nickname years ago and I've used that as my gamer tag for years now. I hail from DE, about 10 minutes south of Wilmington. I've got 2 kids and an incredibly awesome and beautiful wife who actually learned to play MTG just for me. I built her a Kaalia Stax deck that she regularly decimates me with, but it's otherwise awesome. I'm in Sales and Marketing by profession and I look forward to Moderating this site for as long as it's active and for as long as they'll let me.
Welcome to future members!

Same. I know a handful of the regular community thread posters from MTGS and pretty much no one else, so it's fun to learn where people are from, etc. I'm still hoping a few more regulars over there make the leap. It's early in the site's life so there's plenty of time.benjameenbear wrote: ↑4 years agoI like me some introductions! It's great to learn a little bit more about our player base. For the threads I held over there, I've made formal thread closure announcements, with an associated link to the new threads here. It's meant some of the more regular traffic I had has made the leap, which is nice; especially because even for a coding scrub like myself the visual capabilities of deck threads here is SO much nicer.SocorroTortoise wrote: ↑4 years agoSame. So, i just had the "pleasure" of migrating my decks over from MTGS and god forbid i'll ever have to do that again for 16 decks.
I took the chance and included my WIPs (Kambal, Consul of Allocation, Keranos, God of Storms, Slimefoot, the Stowaway & Archangel Avacyn) which are in different stages of development. Would be neat if feedback wouldn't rinse in as slow as on MTGS.
On another note i'm very entertained with the shake up of the latest bans. So much salt that could've been avoided if players would be more sensitive about each others feelings towards the game. But hey, if it's the Solitaire players and Magic: the Investments players that get upset, i don't mind at all. :$

Speaking of ports, I should really port over white border Alesha as a reference point for one of the more interesting builds of the commander to this site. And by interesting, I mean nostalgic.

Honestly, I was initially frightened at how much work it would be to port things over, but it's been nicely easy. Not effortless ofc, but productive. It's remarkable how easily the aesthetics of your threads improve porting them over. All I can say is hats off to Feyd and the team here, it's been really nice seeing how shiny I've been able to make my threads. And as far as coding goes, I am an absolute scrub.
All this being said, I've only ported over the threads I've found easiest so far. Saving my primer for last because it will take some time.

Agreed. The very gamut of possibility has gotten me messing around with my template stylisation, and ultimately I think the end result's better. A bit of shadow makes everything pop, it's easier to embed a dominant and secondary colour theme into box headers and whatnot in a stylistically pleasing way. I even dug out a hex colour for something vaguely parchment-like for backgrounds. The most recent thing I was made aware of, a fully customisable rating tag, is just the perfect embodiment of the potential of this site.
Hey everyone! My name's Morgan and I'm a Structural Engineer from Australia currently finishing my PhD in the same. I've lurked over at MTGSal for a couple of years and thought the move to the new site would be a good time to finally become active!
I started Magic shortly after Darksteel released and was hooked when the first rare I opened was a Darksteel Colossus|Darksteel; 12 year old me was so happy that he promptly popped it into the 8th Edition mono-W starter deck he'd also bought. My LGS closed shortly after Betrayers of Kamigawa released, which began a 12 year break from the game. I came back a couple of years ago after a mate told me all about this amazing card game he'd just found and started playing, and I properly got into Commander last year through a mate I met at the gym.
Each of my Commander decks draws heavily on primers and lists from MTGSal, some of which have already been ported over here, so I'll close this out by saying thanks to everyone who's put their time and energy into making this a great community and also to everyone who will in the future!

This is so true! I might get addicted to this coding thing, once i get a grasp of most options.toctheyounger wrote: ↑4 years agoit's been really nice seeing how shiny I've been able to make my threads. And as far as coding goes, I am an absolute scrub.
Yesterday all i did was copy and paste my decklists over from MTGS and adjust them a little. Today i foolishly felt like overhauling my signature... Once i've read into the BB options on here it was really hard and time-consuming to achieve what i wanted to go for within the 1.024 character limit.
Now i'm highly interested in adjusting my decklist template next!
I can barely fathom how much time and effort that might take...
Oh, shoot. I missed out on the bulk of the intros. Still!

I used be solely for (control for the win, right?), but after playing some mono and mono , it was really refreshing. Obstructions demands creativity, i guessbenjameenbear wrote: ↑4 years agoAll hail the Queen!Airi wrote: ↑4 years agoOh, shoot. I missed out on the bulk of the intros. Still!
