It irks me that Parallel Lives isn't in Quantum Quandrix and/or Strixhaven. It's LONG overdue for a reprint.

Yeah. And it could have easily been flavored to Quandrix too. Minor fail there, Wizards.

That's what I'm saying! It's flexible enough in flavor and function to fit in nearly any set.

They are way too gunshy about printing overpriced cards in precons. we'll never see Oversold Cemetery or Doubling Season in precons despite them being totally fine power level wise.

Or Oracle of Mul Daya etc.

I'd really love to see them start putting a $50 card in every precon because there's just way too much of that super expensive from extreme rarity.

Remember when Linvala, Keeper of Silence was like $50? :P bleh

Someone please submit my wincons deck to PlayEDH, I want to give someone an aneurysm by proxy.

Speaking of reprints, does anyone else have that random ancient common/uncommon they're patiently waiting for a reprint of? Mine's Moment's Peace. I need a foil and can't quite be bothered to order one online.

Constant Mists on a similar note. Also also Wizards, give Titania a foil printing already :fuming:

huh we have an angel emoji thing but no devil....anyway I wonder how PlayEDH would react to a deck list where instead of a wincon, the goal is to end the game as quickly as possible with Divine Intervention

Just dropped a few thousand on a new scooter (Kaabo Mantis)...holy cow is this thing fun. Literal tears in my eyes after giving it a test run. Granted, that's probably mostly from the wind pulling them out of my face as I rip by at 60+ kph.

Yes to all of this. The only reason these cards are expensive is refusal to engage in meaningful reprints. Sure, they are good, but they're not busted and deserve to see more play at all levels of competition in the game. Hell, even shocks in the precons would be a boon. They're good, but not disgustingly so and getting gouged for wanting a reasonable land base just gets my goat every damn build. Honestly, it's a super big reason I like my mono decks so much.

I run a Segway Ninebot with an extended power pack for extra battery life. It doesn't quite have the power that yours does, but even smashing around the streets at 30kph is hella fun.

Second Moderna shot wasn't too bad for me. Some muscle aches and a persistent headache for a day, but no fever or anything. It took my wife out completely for the weekend though.

On reprints and card prices, what happened to Sensei's Divining Top? It's ~3x the price it was when it was arguably the best card in legacy. Doesn't really look like a typical buyout increase either.

I've been using a Xiaomi 365 for the past few months which does about the same, and it's been a real blast - been riding it to and from Hobbymaster for prereleases and FNMs. It's pretty rad to keep up with the traffic on Great South Rd now, though.

Yeah mine's been great for the climb from the train station to work and vice versa. It shaves a full hour of transit from my day and that's pretty valuable.

I do find people don't really know how to manage being around a scooter though. I hate being in crowds at the best of times, and people glued to their screens are a real concern for collisions. I don't mind being on the road if I have to, but I'm also very aware that there's not very much between the tarmac and me if anything goes wrong.

It's awesome how cheap they are to operate. I've never really owned a car since I couldn't really justify the operating expenses when I usually live too close to work to bother with parking and whatnot. Obviously the range is way lower than a car, and they're not as good with rain, but there's no gas, no parking, no insurance. Just plug it in for a few hours a night and you've got great short-range transportation.

Definitely have to be careful with crowds. I've driven mine a lot downtown since I live close to city center. Cars are much better at paying attention and moving in predictable ways, so I generally stick to the street. Been contemplating getting a leather/kevlar jacket, I don't love the idea of hitting pavement at 60kph. Though at least, unlike a motorcycle, you're not going to get trapped under anything.

Also it's sweet to be a pedestrian and/or a vehicle. Always feels great to blow past the cars downtown while they're stuck at a walk signal.

Oh I LOVE the expenses. Minimal costs to charge, super compact, and their range is better than you'd think, if it's needed. I'm a lot further out from the city centre than you are so I get less use from it than I otherwise would, but it's still usable for other 'round town errands and whatnot. Or just a blast for %$#% and giggles.

I generally just dart onto the road for oncoming pedestrians. People have terrible spatial awareness these days, and my scooter is pretty quiet. I just try to be considerate and keep a usual covid distance to account for unexpected movements. It works so far.

I don't see the need for a jacket myself, but then I'm on the roads a lot less and use mine less frequently than yourself from the sounds. I would think it'd be a good idea. I definitely do a helmet, I'm not taking any chances there.

Update: I got to play our children's card game and it was fun!

My first actual game in over a year and I open with Swamp, Sol Ring, Charcoal Diamond. Sigh.

My first in 4 months was Swamp, Sol Ring, Talisman of Dominance, Gravecrawler. Sometimes it all just comes together nicely.

Thus confirming that modern day Simic is the unequivocal, absolute f*cking worst.

This is true, but Sol Ring and Mana Crypt had a lot to do with it too. Did I mention that one of the lands he got with Reshape the Earth was Field of the Dead? Double yay!

I've been working on dropping enough pounds I can ride one of these damn things. Most of them cap out at 220 and so like 5 more pounds and me plus my 15lb magic bag will be safeish :P.

It's interesting to me how Field of the Dead went from pretty meh responses on release to everyone being really over it.

Somehow Reshape the Earth escaped my notice. I should make room for that in my Korvold Lands matter deck.

I admit it is a powerful card if you build around it, but I don't quite understand all of the ambivalence.

Mine goes to 120kg (~265 lbs), I think most of the sportier scooters are in that range if you don't mind dropping the extra $$. Not cheap, but still cheaper than at least a couple of my cards. 27 year old cardboard vs vehicle that can accelerate to 50kph in a few seconds...hmm...
